One of Toronto’s newest developments is receiving some negative reviews online for being an underwhelming entertainment space.

Located at 486 Front St. W, The Well is a mixed-use development that opened last November in the city’s King West community. It offers new residential housing, retail stores and office spaces spanning across 7.67 acres.

Currently, the space is known for its catalog of retail options from Adidas, Indigo, Shoppers, Le Creuset, Blue Banana and more.

In addition, it also features some activities such as Sweat & Tonic, Arcadia Earth and a public skating rink. However, many visitors come for the popular pizza joint, Prince St. Pizza, famous for its Sicilian style slices.

Despite this, some Toronto TikTokers have come forward saying they were disappointed by the space. Some even pointed out that it was a bad idea to create an outdoor shopping mall in the middle of winter, while others say it’s just plain pointless to go while it remains an unfinished project.

“I feel like it’s definitely a Toronto feeling of going to the structure they worked so hard and took so long to build like The Well, that’s where I am right now, and being so let down…it’s a waste,” TikTok user @zulllfff said.

“Honestly, the whole thing is beautiful to look at but as two girls who hate the cold, go in the summer,” TikTok user @siskomedia.social said.

“Who the hell thought it was a good idea to open an outdoor mall in Canada…So much promotion for this “mall” when nothing is even open,” TikTok user @papaiza said.

The user also mentioned that the only saving grace at The Well is Prince Street Pizza, but the big asterisk is that they provided no seating space to eat the pizza, forcing customers to eat their food in the cold.

Now Toronto reached out to The Well for comment but have yet to receive a response by publication deadline.

The Well is expected to open new retail outlets and businesses in phases throughout the year.
