It’s T-shirt time for Canadian reality TV lovers! The hit MTV reality show Jersey Shore is now casting for a new spin-off, and it’s set to take place in none other than Canada.
The new series, produced by Paramount+ and MTV, is looking for 10 people who consider themselves to be the life of the party.
“Canada Shore is looking for ten fresh-faced, unapologetically wild Canadian singletons who embody the ‘Shore’ spirit,” the casting call says.
Producers are looking for Canadians aged 19-26 “to move in with other like-minded people to experience the most unforgettable, unfiltered summer of their lives.”
Cast members will live under one roof while filming the show this summer.
The announcement has Canadians flocking to social media to share their reactions.
“Catch me getting a spray tan like 2010,” one Instagram user said.
“Sign me up,” another user said.
Other social media users have been jokingly giving titles for the upcoming show, with some adding “Lakeshore,” “Wasaga Shore,” and “Woodbine shore” onto the list.
While other users aren’t too optimistic about the show.
“I think you’re a decade too late,” an Instagram user said.
The original “Jersey Shore” launched itself onto television screens in 2009, and showcased eight Italian-Americans fist-pumping their way through clubs all summer long, and also falling deep into unforgettable drama while living under the same roof.
The original series brought hit stars and names to Hollywood such as Nicole “Snookie” Polizzi and Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino.
The original cast members of the show reunited in 2018 for a revival show called “Jersey Shore Family Vacation,” which has been running for seven seasons.
The new Canadian version won’t be the first spin-off of the show, it follows behind “Floribama Shore,” set in Florida, which premiered in 2018 and ran for four seasons, and “Aussie Shore” which recently premiered in 2024.
In total there are now 18 spinoffs of the show. Producers for the show have not confirmed which Canadian city the spinoff will be filming in.
Applications for the open casting call close on April 30.
