Pizza Pizza will reportedly be the Toronto Maple Leafs’ helmet sponsor for home games during the 2023-24 season.

The team is set to make the announcement at their home game against the Florida Panthers tonight, according to Toronto Star reporter Kevin McGran.

The Canadian pizza chain will replace their previous helmet sponsor, social media app TikTok.

It is unknown if a new road helmet sponsor has been chosen.

Pizza Pizza and the Leafs have been partners for 25 years, with their most popular giveaway being a free slice of pizza if Toronto gets a first-period goal, the Toronto Sun reports.

News of the partnership is spurring mixed reaction online.

“Hating on Pizza Pizza is so cool for some reason. It’s the Nickelback of pizza, everyone pretends to hate it but when this is how you remind me comes on you’re singing every damn word,” one user on X, formerly known as Twitter, said.

“They should be. Their Creamy garlic is the best,” another user on X said.

Meanwhile, some people feel that another pizza joint should have been chosen as the sponsor.

“I’m just disappointed it isn’t Pizza Nova – best chain pizza imo,” one user said.

“My biggest issue is Boston Pizza was right there,” another said.
