Thousands of Canadians are planning to boycott Loblaw in May in protest of its rising grocery prices, but that means saying no to more than just its supermarkets.
Loblaw owns brands in retail, alcohol, pharmacy, and banking and the subreddit community (r/loblawsisoutofcontrol) planning the boycott is urging its 37,000 members not to buy from any Loblaw- affiliated companies.
The purpose of the boycott is to pressure Loblaw to lower grocery costs by 15 per cent and remove member-only pricing policies.

As part of the boycott, organizers are asking people to write to their local MPs and to Loblaw’s customer support, to spread the word via social media, buy loss leaders, avoid non-essential purchases at Loblaw and its subsidiaries, donate time or money to food banks, and to shop at independent grocers and local farmers markets.
