Toronto author Daniella Bedward has released a new book aimed at providing ways to help young kids with self-awareness through self-regulation.
Bedward is a child and youth worker who has been in the industry since 2006. Her goal as an educator is to positively impact the lives of children and youth by advocating for them and educating them on how to advocate for themselves.
“I would like to bridge the gap between adult and child, student and teacher, as well as authority and vulnerable society, in order to maintain opportunities to learn from and support one another,” she said on her website.
The recently self-published author just released her new book titled “Do You See What I See? Behaviour Management Guidebook” is a behaviour management guidebook that provides alternate methods to assist a child or student with self-awareness through self-regulation.
Her observations stem from her time in and outside of the classroom over the past 17 years. In the classroom, she teaches Behaviour Management through Life Skills & Social Skills programming. There, she creates individual goals, as well as classroom goals to facilitate classroom management which guide her assessment.
“The reality is that traditional remedies and classroom strategies have shifted over the years. Acknowledging this is the first step to showing yourself and the youth some compassion when facing challenging scenarios while addressing their behaviours,” Bedward said.
“We all have different ways that we learn, perceive, process, and interpret information. Keeping that in mind just might create the shift that you seek,” she added.
“Do You See What I See? Behaviour Management Guidebook” is available now on Amazon, Indigo, Walmart, Barnes & Noble and Smashwords.
