What is Halo Halo?
Isabella’s donuts baked “Halo Halo,” a famous Filipino dessert meaning “mix-mix” in Tagalog, reflective of the colourful assortment of sweet mix-in flavours.
“To celebrate your half-Filipino heritage, we thought we’d recreate some delicious and iconic Filipino halo halo,” the donut shop captioned on their post, tagging the artist, too.
How Isabella’s Donuts created the Bruno Mars-inspired treat
The Filipino-owned business described the ingredients on Instagram as a pillowy-soft dough, an evaporated milk drizzle, ube pastry cream, ube stick-o, sago tapioca, and nata de coco jelly.
The limited-edition item is available at any of their five Toronto locations as long as the Grammy-winning artist is in the city.
