The Blue Jays have won Game 1 of the World Series in a stunning 11-4 victory over the L.A. Dodgers.

Toronto fans erupted in cheers after the Jays secured their first win in the World Series in more than three decades.

It’s been 32 years since the Jays last won the championship when the team beat the Philadelphia Phillies.

It was a historic game as outfielder Addison Barger scored a pinch-hit grand slam in his World Series debut helping the team score nine runs in the 6th inning.

Former Jays Coach Cito Gaston (who led the team to win the series in 1992 and 1993) threw the first pitch to current Coach John Schneider.

The Jays have home-field advantage in the championship, with the first two games and the last two games, if necessary, being played at the Rogers Centre.

To get to the World Series, the Jays beat New York and Seattle, while L.A. beat Cincinnati, Philadelphia and Milwaukee.

Game 2 is set for Saturday at the Rogers Centre at 8 p.m. EST.
