After the Toronto Blue Jays narrowly lost the World Series title against the Los Angeles Dodgers on Saturday, Canadians remain united showing an outpour of love to the team.
The Jays fought hard against the Dodgers in the seventh game of the World Series before losing to the now back-back-champions 5-4. It was the first time the team made it to the World Series since 1993.

Despite walking away empty handed at the Rogers Centre, fans and politicians kept their heads high, and used the moment to uplift the team more than ever before.
“I want to thank the Blue Jays, and the whole city of Toronto… I am so very proud,” Toronto Mayor Olivia Chow said in a post on X.
“Blue Jays, you’re Toronto’s team, you’re Canada’s team. You’ve united all of us. Thank you for setting such a good example of excellence, friendship, and hope. You have inspired a generation.”
Chow finished her statement by saying she’s looking forward to next year’s win.
Prime Minister Mark Carney also shared some words of encouragement for the Jays, and called the team an inspiration pointing to a brighter future.
“You’ve made all of [Canada] proud with how hard you fought, the risks you took, and the teamwork you lived throughout,” Carney said in a post on X.
Toronto sports teams also came together to show the Jays some love, as the Argonouts, Raptors, Maples Leafs, and Toronto FC released a joint post on social media.
“What an incredible run! Thank you for bringing team Toronto together,” the teams said.
Now Toronto caught up with some fans leaving the game on Saturday, and although the outcome wasn’t what they hoped for, they still shared words of encouragement.
“This was just practice for next year’s win, so we’ll be back to win 2026,” a fan told Now Toronto.
“They have given us a season to remember, I couldn’t be more proud of them,” another fan said
“Next year, same time, same place,” another fan said.
Following their loss, the Jays released a statement on social media saying “it was a magical ride.”
“Our city, our home, our fans showed up on the grand stage…and we couldn’t be prouder,” the team said.
Fans immediately flooded the team’s comment section showing love, some even calling for a parade despite the team’s loss.
“Let’s still have a parade for our amazing Jays! Fighters until the end!!,” an instagram user said.
“They deserve a parade. It’s a big deal to win the division and go on to the World Series. This is a huge accomplishment, and we need to celebrate our guys!,” another user said.
“Are we still doing a parade to celebrate the incredible run and character of the team?,” another user questioned.
