Torontonians can expect to see nude cyclists cruising down the streets this Saturday, as the World Naked Bike Ride officially makes its return to the city.

The movement is an annual global environmental protest that fights climate change, promotes cycling safety and advocates for body positivity. According to the group, the idea originated in Vancouver and since then, it now occurs in over 80 cities globally.

This year, the event’s dress code is “bare as you dare,” which means the choice of whether to go nude or wear clothing is completely optional.

Nevertheless, around the world, riders will unite to join the 16 kilometer bike ride in their most freeing form.

In Toronto, the gathering will start at Coronation Park between 10 a.m to noon. Riders are encouraged to mingle, wear body paint and pimp their rides.

Afterwards, the ride will begin at 1 p.m. and will go through the downtown core. At this year’s event, there are new stops included in addition to Sugar Beach and HTO Beach. The route will end full circle at Coronation Park.

This is a rain or shine event that is free for all. No registration is required.

Everyone is invited to come with their bike and helmet and enjoy the ride.
