Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is asking Taylor Swift to tour in Canada, and Canadians are either loving or hating his plea.
Trudeau took to Twitter Wednesday evening to ask the pop singer to make a stop in Canada for her Eras Tour, and included a clever homage to her hit song “Cruel Summer.”
The prime minister tweeted in response to Swift’s tweet about adding 14 new shows to her upcoming 2024 tour in Europe and the UK.
Last month, the multi-Grammy award winning singer announced the dates for her world tour leaving Canadian fans disappointed that no Canadian stops made the list.
Countries included in her tour are Japan, Australia, Singapore, France, Sweden, Portugal, Spain, United Kingdom, Ireland, Netherlands, Switzerland, Italy, Germany, Poland and Austria.
Many people were quick to react to Trudeau’s plea, with some applauding his efforts.
Meanwhile, some said the prime minister should be focusing on other pressing issues affecting the country.
Currently, Swift is still on her U.S. tour and will begin her international tour in Mexico City on Aug. 24.
