Céline Dion is back and better with the release of “Dansons,” her first single in seven years.
The French-language ballad was written and co-produced by Jean-Jacques Goldman alongside Luc Leroy and Yann Macé.
The 58-year-old Grammy-winning artist from Québec has worked with Goldman since her 1995 album D’eux and her 2016 album “Encore un soir” (One More Night.)
Their collaboration continues with “Dansons,” which is accompanied by a music video that brings the song’s themes to life.
The video was filmed in Paris, France, showcasing a ballerina twirling through the city and couples dancing along the streets, echoing the song’s message.

The lyrics emphasize dancing because we owe it to ourselves and to those who cannot move, encouraging listeners to find joy even in adversity. Dion also urges everyone to sing out and use their voice, reinforcing the song’s empowering spirit.

This message may resonate with listeners aware of Dion’s personal challenges, including her diagnosis of Stiff Person Syndrome—an incurable autoimmune disorder that forced her off stage and temporarily prevented her from using her muscles for singing and dancing.
Her Instagram followers immediately celebrated her new single.
“What an amazing song. The Queen has come back.” Another added, “Always as magical.”
“There you are, Cel. So gentle. Delivery wrapped in absolute wisdom. You have nothing left to prove. You just…are. You did it. And it’s more than enough. I love you. So much. We all do,” another user wrote.
The release of this single comes just a few months before her upcoming Paris residency, scheduled from Sept. 12 to Oct. 17.
Fans can expect 16 shows instead of 10 after nine million signed up for the original presale.
It’s also her first proper release since 2019, when she dropped her album Courage.
