Calling all bowling extraordinaries, here’s your chance to prove yourself.
Two Canadian organizations are inviting you to try the “Turkey Bowl” challenge this long weekend.
The “Turkey Bowl” challenge encourages bowlers across the country to play a game this Family Day long weekend with a goal of scoring “turkey,” known as three strikes in a row in a single game.
Think Turkey and Bowl Canada have teamed up once again to bring this exciting game to bowling centres across Canada. To up the ante, the organizations are giving away $17,500 in prizes.
Canadians who submit their “turkey” will be entered in a draw to receive one of 250 $50 Visa gift cards as well as a grand prize of one of ten $500 grocery gift cards.
To submit an entry, bowlers just need to take a picture of their “turkey” on the digital scoreboard and share the post on their Instagram or Facebook accounts, with @CanadianTurkey and #ThinkTurkey tagged. Alternatively, bowlers can upload the photo via the contest entry form on Think Turkey’s website.
“Last year we saw unprecedented attendance at bowling centres during the Turkey Bowl weekend, with hundreds of thousands of bowlers across the country participating in the challenge,” Bowl Canada Marketing Chair Bob McKay said in a press release.
This year, about 300 bowling centres are expected to participate in the challenge. According to organizers, last year’s event saw record-high numbers with approximately 648,500 bowlers over the course of the long weekend.
It was the first time the Turkey Bowl challenge was launched and as a result, bowling centres saw 729 Canadians successfully bowl a turkey.
Canadians can visit their closest participating bowling centre to try the challenge from Feb. 17 to 19. A full list of participating bowling centres, along with details and rules on how to enter, can be found here.
