Friday, Jan. 17:
Late Night Live
Grab your friends and head to the Drake Hotel for some classic cocktails and live music from the city’s best DJ’s. Friday and Saturday’s lounge line up includes beats from bands such as Donnybrook Trio and Alan Zemaitis Trio. It all goes down at 10 p.m. Cover is $10 each.

Nature in Brilliant Colour at ROM
The Royal Ontario Museum has a new exhibit called Nature in Brilliant Colour. That showcases the beauty of the planet from its gems and greenery to its vibrant animals. There will be over 200 specimens, photo-worthy projections, and shifting soundscapes to observe. It’s running now until Aug. 17. Tickets are $29 each and the museum is open from 10 a.m to 5:30 p.m.

Canvas & Bear Paint Pouring Workshop
Try a new art workshop where you can play with colours and patterns at the Artbox Studio & Gallery. The Canvas and Bear Paint Pouring workshop is a unique art technique that is described as pouring acrylic paint onto a blank canvas, creating a one-of-a-kind art piece.
The session is from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Tickets start at $57.85.

Saturday, Jan. 18:
Jamaica in January
Experience Jamaica in January at Stackt market where you can indulge in delicious Caribbean food and get a chance to play the drums. In addition, there will also be giveaways and lots of vendors to shop from. It’s free to attend and is on from noon to 9 p.m.

Toronto International Boat Show
Get ready for summer by attending the Toronto International Boat Show at Exhibition Place. It’s the perfect family-friendly place for those interested in sailing, fishing, paddleboarding, wakeboarding and other fun, water sports activities. Tickets are $25 for a one-day pass. It’s from 10 p.m to 6 p.m.

Cooking Class for Singles in Toronto
Brush up on your cooking skills by taking a cooking class curated for singles. It promises to be an interactive evening filled with yummy food and new connections. The intimate dinner party starts at 6 p.m and is expected to last three and a half hours. The event will take place at Summerhill Event Boutique at 1057 Mount Pleasant Road.

Live Sketch Comedy
Dedicate your Sunday to having a laugh at The Second City where a fresh cast will entertain you with new jokes and material for the new year. It’s from 7 to 8:30 p.m and tickets start at $29.

The Culture: Hip Hop and Contemporary Art in the 21st Century
There’s a new art exhibit at the Art Gallery of Ontario called, “The Culture: Hip Hop and Contemporary Art in the 21st Century” which aims to highlight contemporary art, fashion and hip hop and its global impact on visual culture. It’s from 10:30 a.m to 5:30 p.m. Tickets are $30 each.
