Friday, Oct. 6:
Toronto Oktoberfest
Celebrate German culture at Toronto’s Oktoberfest on Oct. 6. There, you can feast on authentic German foods, drinks and treats. There’s going to be free German glass beer steins for the first 500 attendees for every Tapping of the Keg session, a cabaret show with Fräulein E, contests and games, and a Bavarian Food Truck Village.

Pumpkin Fest Toronto
One of Downsview Park’s most popular events is back. Pumpkin Fest Toronto is a four-day outdoor event packed with tons of entertainment, rides, activities, food and live shows. Families can choose the perfect pumpkin, take photos, and even enjoy inflatable slides. Tickets are $30 per person online or $35 at the gate.

The Burton Bar – A Halloween Speakeasy Pop Up
If you’re a big fan of Corpse Bride, Edward Scissorhands, Beetlejuice and basically all things Tim Burton, then you need to visit this Tim Burton inspired, immersive Halloween bar. Here you’ll find a local speakeasy with haunting decor, dark cocktails and mysterious quests.

The Great Canadian Horror Film Festival
Halloween means horror movies all month long and what better way to start than with The Great Canadian Horror Film Festival. Some of the films in this year’s lineup are The Exortwist, OUT, and Old Flames, among others. After the screening, there’s going to be a live vote for best film, and the film with the most votes will receive a $500 USD prize.

Saturday, Oct. 7:
High Park Community Plantsgiving
Spend the day giving back to nature at High Park’s Community Plantsgiving event. Participants will help plant native species to help restore and maintain High Park’s globally rare Black Oak Savannah ecosystem. This free event is happening at 375 Colborne Lodge Dr from 10 a.m to noon.

Puppy Yoga (Kids-Friendly) by Yoga Kawa Toronto with Golden Retriever
Yoga Kawa is hosting a puppy yoga session where you can get your stretches, cuddles and kisses all in one place. This class is perfect for those looking for a fun and calming activity to do with friends or family. The session includes 35 minutes of yoga stretches with puppies along your side, 20 minutes of one-on-one cuddles with them and five minutes to talk about how great they are as buddies.

Squid Lid has announced the second anniversary of SKELEDANCE at Revival in Toronto. Attendees are encouraged to dress up as skeletons or any costume of their choice and embrace the start of spooky season.

October Family Weekend: Portraiture & Collectivity
Bring your family or friends to a free portraiture workshop at MOCA Toronto from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. Local artist Emily Joyce will help participants learn and explore different drawing techniques. This month’s workshop theme draws inspiration from “Dancing in the Light.”

Pumpkin Patch & Hay Bale Maze
Try to make your way through the Hay Bale Maze at the Evergreen Garden Market. Once you finish, you’ll find yourself at a pumpkin patch where you can choose from a line of specialty pumpkins, gourds, and carving pumpkins for sale. This free event is happening every Sunday of this month from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Halloween Nights of Lights & Pumpkinville
Halloween Nights of Lights has returned even bigger and better than before at 500 Progress Ave., outside Scarborough Town Centre. It’s a thrilling and immersive walk-through experience that features more than 1.5 million LED and RGB lights animated and synchronized to your favourite Halloween tunes. After the light trail, there’s also a fair called Pumpkinville where you’ll see massive pumpkin sculptures.
