If there’s one thing Torontonians have, it’s a palate.

The city is a true melting pot of cultures and foods from around the globe, especially considering Toronto is one of the most diverse places on Earth.

But when it comes to Canada’s top choice, only one cuisine reigns supreme.

According to recent data compiled by pickyeaterblog.com, Italian cuisine leads the way as the most popular food choice in the country.

For decades, Italian restaurants in Canada have been serving up iconic dishes that need little introduction. This includes margherita pizza, pasta, ravioli, lasagna and gelato.

There are 2,140 Italian restaurants nationwide, according to the website.

Japanese and Chinese cuisines came in second and third place, respectively, with Thai, English, and Greek rounding out the top six.

American food topped the list at number eight, meanwhile Canada did not make the cut.
