5 Toronto restaurants Forbes believes should be on every traveller’s 2023 bucket list

There’s no debating Toronto is a top destination for travel enthusiasts and probably on millions of people’s bucket lists, and for all the right reasons.

From the intense food scene, the diverse culture to the behemoth that is the CN tower, there’s lots to do, see and of course eat.

That’s why it doesn’t come as too much of a shock that Forbes has recognized so many restaurants in Toronto as a must visit place when travelling.

Here are five restaurants that received a 2023 Forbes Travel Guide Star Award:

1.Café Boulud Toronto

Café Boulud is located at the Four Seasons Hotel Toronto in the downtown core.

Forbes describes the cafe as reminiscent of Paris with a charming ambiance.

“Located in the iconic Yorkville neighborhood, surrounded by the city’s designer shops, the new Café Boulud is ideally situated for a meal before or after exploring the buzzy area,” they said.

Location: 60 Yorkville Ave., Toronto, ON M4W 0A4

2.Canoe

Forbes describes Canoe as a stunning venue featuring satisfying regional Canadian cuisine.

“While dazzling ingredients tend to be sourced from wonderful local producers, many organic, the kitchen borrows flavors and techniques from the world at large, including Asia, France and the American South,” the review read.

Location: 66 Wellington St. W., 54th floor, Toronto, ON M5K 1H6

3.One Restaurant

Located at the The Hazelton Hotel, One Restaurant is described as an “unabashedly sultry with rich olive leather booths, dim lights, textured walls and pops of glam gold and red among a sea of neutrals.”

This spot encourages French and Italian-inspired cuisine.

Location: 116 Yorkville Ave., Toronto, ON M5R 1C2

4.Scaramouche

Scaramouche is described as “the perfect hideaway for falling in love with food or your dining companion.”

Don’t let the modern look fool you, this restaurant has been running for 35 years by chef and owner Keith Froggett.

Whether you want to eat in the fancy dining room upstairs or grab some pasta from their pasta bar downstairs, there’s something for everyone.

Location: 1 Benvenuto Pl., Toronto, ON M4V 2L1

5.TOCA Restaurant

Located at The Ritz-Carlton, Toronto’s TOCA Restaurant serves traditional Italian dishes.

Thanks to Rome’s most celebrated chef, Oliver Glowing, the Italian dishes are not just inspired but lived through.

“TOCA brings classic Italian cuisine to the heart of downtown Toronto. Using locally sourced, seasonal ingredients,” according to Forbes.
