Staff at a Toronto restaurant received an impromptu visit from actress and talk show host Drew Barrymore on Thursday, who was reportedly in town to shoot a commercial.

Barrymore stopped by Fat Pasha, a Middle Eastern style restaurant specializing in dishes inspired by the cuisine of European Jews.

Helmed by Anthony Rose, Fast Pasha is best known for whipping up crowd pleasing classics like hummus, falafel, shawarma, baba ganoush, labneh and tahini salad. The restaurant was also among a group of select establishments to be awarded a Bib Gourmand by Michelin last year on account of its exceptional quality and value.

Rose thanked Barrymore for stopping by in an Instagram post on Thursday.

“Most of you don’t know this but @drewbarrymore and I almost dated a few years ago. When I say “Almost Dated” I mean that I liked her on RAYA and she never liked me back, so I’m still waiting. So we actually never dated at all,” Rose captioned in a photo of himself, his team and Barrymore.

“The Never been Kissed” star also popped into Rose’s bagel spot, Schmaltz, for a quick bite. The casual eatery also shared a picture with the star on Instagram.
