Toronto is in for a sizzling hot summer, so why not enjoy the heat by going to some fun festivals happening across the city. From music and art to food, there are many options that are sure to pique your interest and give you a chance to experience new and exciting activities this summer.
- Wine Fest Toronto
Wine Fest is a three-day event that celebrates the city’s wine culture and provides guests an opportunity to try the finest wines from around the world. The city’s only all-you-can-taste outdoor wine festival is taking place at RendezViews from July 7-9. For the first time ever, Wine Fest is also extended to three days with four, three-hour sessions to choose from.
- Family Fest 2023
Guild Festival Theatre is welcoming audiences of all ages to Family Fest, a three-day event filled with live performances, workshops and activities for audiences of all ages. The free festival will be held from July 7-9 at the Guild Park & Gardens at the iconic Greek Theatre, located at 201 Guildwood Parkway.
- Toronto Outdoor Art Fair
Toronto Outdoor Art Fair (TOAF) is coming back to the city with the online fair from July 2–9 and the weekend outdoor show at Nathan Phillips Square from July 7–9. Buzzing with art for all, TOAF continues to connect with artists and collectors across Canada and the globe.
- Smorgasburg Toronto 2023
Torontonians can visit Smorgasburg along the waterfront every Saturday for delicious eats from dozens of local vendors. In its second year, Smorgasburg is a free event for all ages and provides visitors with an authentic taste of the city. It features 50 diverse weekly vendors every Saturday that showcase Toronto’s creative culinary talent and will feature a full outdoor bar with harbour views and seating. Smorgasburg is open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. every Saturday until Sept. 9.
- Taste of the Middle East Summer Festival 2023
The 6th Annual Taste of the Middle East Summer Festival is honouring Arabic music, art, heritage and culture at Nathan Phillips Square from July 14-16. The square will be transformed into a walk through the streets and souks of the Middle East, serving up all things Arabic. The free event will showcase a mix of new and emerging local artists, old favourites and some of today’s most prominent performers in Toronto’s Canadian Arabic community.
- Foodville: Afro-Caribbean Food Festival
Stackt market is hosting an Afro-Caribbean food festival on July 29 where visitors can stuff their faces with all types of African, Caribbean, and Afro-Latin foods. Foodville will highlight the culinary delights and delicious bites of local and international Black-owned vendors. There will be DJs blasting the sounds of soca, dancehall, R&B, afrobeats and hip-hop, special guest chefs, live performances and 30 food and artisan vendors.
- Toronto Caribbean Carnival
The Toronto Caribbean Carnival is returning to the city from Aug. 3-7 and it’s bringing a spectacular display of costumes, music and culture. This year, it’s celebrating its 56th anniversary of the grande parade where thousands of masqueraders will line the streets of Lakeshore Boulevard as they dance to the hottest soca music.
- Danforth Comedy Fest
Jump out of your seat from laughter at The Danforth Comedy Festival in the east end.
From Aug. 4-6 and 11-12, the festival will feature comedians seen on Just for Laughs, Canada’s Got Talent, The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, The Late Late Show with James Corden, Conan, Comedy Central, and more.
- Veld Festival
Downsview Park’s highly anticipated electronic music festival, Veld, is bringing an amazing line up to the city on Aug. 4-6. This time around, Veld lovers can look forward to Zedd, Tiesto, and Illenium, among others. There’s a reason why Velders continue to return to this festival year by year. The neon paradise offers the best electronic music, an exciting dance floor and a dazzling fireworks display.
- SummerWorks Performance Festival 2023
The 33rd SummerWorks Performance Festival will feature free performances, eclectic artistic programming, intimate gatherings, and more, aimed at creating new connections amongst Toronto’s community. This year’s festival takes place from Aug. 3-13, and will showcase 20 performances and events, presented in both the East and West ends of Toronto, including at The Citadel: Ross Centre for Dance, Aki Studio at Daniels Spectrum, and The Theatre Centre, as well as at farmers’ markets across the city.
