In Toronto, it’s practically tradition to unearth the toboggans and crazy carpets after a big winter storm.
On Wednesday, 35 cm of snow blanketed the city, creating the perfect conditions for a hilly ride with friends and family. With more snow set to fall Monday, Now Toronto has compiled some of Toronto’s best snow hills.
Bickford Park
The only park with three tobogganing hills, Bickford Park — located south of Bloor Street West near Grace Avenue in Little Italy — is the ideal destination for those looking to avoid the crowds at Christie Pits. Its multiple hills cater to different skill levels, making it an optimal choice for families.
Centennial Park
Situated in the northwest corner of Toronto in Etobicoke, Centennial Park opened in 1967 to celebrate Canada’s 100th birthday. While the park only has one hill for riding down, it’s massive enough that no one has to wait in line for their turn. If tobogganing isn’t your speed, Centennial Park has plenty of bike trails, sports fields and playgrounds.
Corktown Common
As the name suggests, Corktown Common is located in the Corktown neighbourhood, at the foot of Lower River Street and Bayview Avenue. It boasts a large tobogganing hill that rises towards a playground, making it an ideal slope for kids looking for a fun afternoon or first-timer adults.
Fairmount Park
Located on Gerrard Street in the Upper Beaches neighbourhood, Fairmount Park is great for families who are looking for a low-key day playing in the snow. The park contains a kid-friendly hill, a playground and an outdoor ice rink. Look out for pedestrians though, as the top of the tobogganing hill meets the sidewalk.
Greenwood Park
Near the intersection of Dundas Street East and Greenwood Avenue, Greenwood Park is an ideal quiet location for tobogganers who want to avoid the crowds at Riverdale Park. Tired of the hills? The park also has Toronto’s first covered outdoor artificial ice rink.

Riverdale Park East
The prime spot for east-end snow lovers, Riverdale Park East boasts not only a gigantic tobogganing hill, but also spectacular skyline views. Divided by the Don Valley Parkway, Riverdale Park East is located on Broadview Avenue, accessible via the 506 Streetcar.
Riverdale Park West
On the other side of the Don Valley Parkway on Sumach Street, Riverdale Park West has a smaller, more kid-friendly hill while still offering the same breathtaking skyline views as on the east side.

Trinity Bellwoods Park
Despite not being an officially designated tobogganing site by the city, Torontonians flock to Trinity Bellwoods Park on Queen Street West every winter anyway. The largest park in the Downtown Core, it contains several hills for varying skill levels.
Weston Lions Park
Located at Lawrence Avenue and Weston Road near Humber River, Weston Lions Park is a go-to spot for sledding and tobogganing in Etobicoke when there’s enough snow. There’s a family-friendly slope, although it’s best to watch out for ‘No Tobogganing’ signs in restricted areas.
Withrow Park
In the Riverdale neighbourhood steps away from Danforth Avenue, Withrow Park is a short walk from Riverdale Park East — in case the crowds become a bit much. The park offers a small but steep hill, perfect for squeezing in multiple runs a day.
