
Getting a tattoo is a serious commitment and oftentimes, people can end up regretting the tattoo they were so quick and fixated on inking. And it turns out Canada is among the top countries worldwide with residents who regret their ink the most.
A new report from Preply finds that Canada is among the top five countries with the most tattoo mishaps.

The language learning app took a look at the countries with the most tattoo regrets by analyzing the demand for tattoo removal and corrections around the world.
Global Google search data was collected in November 2022.
The report found that the United States ranked first when it came to regrets, with over a million annual searches every year. In second place was Brazil with 275,040 annual searches, followed by theUnited Kingdom with 217,200 searches, India with 119,880 searches, and in fifth place, Canada with over 90,000 searches, according to Preply.
Other fun facts Preply discovered were the following:
- The most common type of language tattoo are name, letter and quote tattoos based on the number of tagged Instagram posts and annual Google search.
- The most popular language to get tattooed is Japanese.
- The most trending language to get tattooed in 2022 was Persian.
- The celebrity with the biggest influence on tattoo choices is Ariana Grande with over a million searches.
