Old pens and highlighters usually have only one place to go when they die: landfill. Save them from the trash by bringing your dead pens, markers, highlighters and mechanical pencils to most Staples stores for recycling. The upcycling kings over at Terracycle will melt them down and turn them into plastic Muskoka chairs and more (terracycle.ca).
