Blue Jays fans will soon see the new and improved Rogers Centre in just two weeks, and with this grand opening comes some exciting new eats to try as well.
Stadium hospitality provider Aramark Sports + Entertainment is preparing to welcome back fans with state-of-the-art ordering technology and a new lineup of unique and delicious foods.
This spring, the seasonal dish is a banh mi chicken sandwich with halal ginger chicken, kimchi mayo, cucumber, pickled carrot, and cilantro on a baguette. This will be found at The Stop, on the 100 level of the centre field.
The sandwich is part of a limited- time, seasonally inspired food and beverage program called Seasons Inning Stretch that will offer new dishes at the centre to the ballpark catered to each season.
“In the spring, venues will showcase fragrant and light ingredients, while the summer months will highlight classics concessions with a refreshing twist. And, as the baseball season comes to an end, warm, fall-flavor profiles will take center field,” Aramark said.
The ballpark is in the midst of its $300 million renovation project at the Rogers Centre. The finished plan will include new outfield stands with four neighbourhoods: The Stop, The Catch, Park Social and the Corona Rooftop Patio.
Each new neighbourhood will include a variety of new food and beverage options:
- The Stop (100 Level, Centre Field): In addition to banh mi sandwiches, they will also offer new cocktails.
- The Catch (Section 106) will feature cocktails and food such as mac & cheese, Montreal smoked meat and Cuban sandwiches.
- Park Social (500 Level, Left Field) will offer food truck-style eats like bacon-pepper grilled cheese and milkshakes.
- The Corona Rooftop Patio (500 Level, Right Field) will offer a new take on classic ballpark foods and offer an iconic Toronto staple, the peameal bacon sandwich.

In addition to this, the stadium will also have a brand new hot dog headquarters with ballpark views called Schneiders Porch located in Section 209.
Some classic ballpark eats are also going to get a new look this season. Aramark is introducing jerk chicken nachos with white corn tortilla chips and plantains covered in jerk chicken, pineapple pico, pineapple sour cream, green onions, and cheese sauce. This will be found on the 100 level of The Stop as well as the 200 Level of the WestJet Flight Deck. And if that’s not enough to get your mouth watering, there will also be a poutine hot dog available throughout the whole stadium.
“Our teams have been working through the offseason to develop menu creations and venue advancements that will deliver the memorable game day experiences that fans have come to expect, and we look forward to showcasing everything new that we have to offer,” President and
CEO of Aramark Sports + Entertainment, Alison Birdwell, said in a media release on Monday.
Now, it isn’t a complete meal without a dessert and this year, the stadium will have peanut butter and jelly churros at the 500 level of Park Social. These churros will be tossed in cinnamon sugar and drizzled with peanut butter and strawberry jam, with fresh cut strawberries and nuts.
The outfield district expansion and new concession items will be open to the public as of Apr. 11 for the Jays’ home opener against the Detroit Tigers.
