Many Torontonians agree that the city’s experiencing a coffee epidemic.

Toronto resident Charlotte C. acknowledges that an expensive coffee is her choice, so she just wants a good spot to “make it worth it.”

“At this point, it becomes like $5 for a coffee, unfortunately. Even like coffee shops that are artisanal or espresso bars are pretty expensive,” she told Now Toronto.

To match the cost with the taste of her drink, she suggests going to The Black Canary.

Another Toronto resident, Trinity J., agrees that getting a tea (as she’s not a coffee drinker) can get quite expensive, and sees it as a treat.

Because of that, she makes her own at home.

“In the economy we’re in right now, it’s better to self-source,” Trinity said.

But Torontonian Tabuu T. disagrees with it all, saying that sticking to Tim Hortons will save you from these financial troubles.

“I’m about to get a double-double right now, so $2 times seven, you can do the math,” he told Now Toronto.

Coming up to $14 a week for seven coffees versus $15 for a singular drink, he doesn’t see the issue.

“I stick to my $2. $15 is crazy, like if you’re drinking Starbucks, okay, that’s understandable. But not me. Timmies, $2,” Tabuu said.
