R.I.P. Staggered Crossing’s Bruce Adamson

Former Staggered Crossing guitarist Bruce Adamson passed away on December 15, according to a statement posted on the Julian Taylor Band’s Facebook page.

The cause of death has not been announced.

Adamson played lead guitar in the Toronto roots rock band from 1997 to 2001 alongside singer Julian Taylor and drummer Jeremy Elliott, who later formed the Julian Taylor Band.

“Bruce was a brilliant guitar player,” Taylor said in a statement. “He was one the best in the world and certainly one of the best I’ve ever played with.”

“No matter what, we knew we had the best guitarist in the room every night we played,” Elliott added.

Adamson remained close friends with his former bandmates after parting ways with the group, which was signed to Warner Music Canada at one point. The band officially broke up in 2007, but the various members have played together in the years since.

Friends and family gathered to celebrate Adamson’s life and play a memorial jam session at Dora Keogh’s Irish Pub on the Danforth on December 21.
