How many comeback attempts is a performer allowed? Shaggy wants answers since Clothes Drop flopped. Well, history may repeat itself here.
The track Bonafied Girl’s radio aspirations betray the message of infidelity it speaks to, and it’s one of the best songs here. Relatively. On the weird, spacy title track, Shaggy seems to be recovering from Rohypnol. To be fair, More Woman is hilarious, and sincerity emerges from Woman Scorn, also blessed by Nasha’s warm voice.
Sizzla and Collie Buddz barely appear on the most political song, Church Heathen, a daring track for a yardie to make: “Deacon drive a big Benz, where he get him money from? / Every Sunday is a competition / Them only come a service fi look church woman.” Yah-yeh!
His intentions sound pure, but Shaggy’s musical moonshine will leave all but the biggest fans with a heavy hangover.
