A gluten free pop-up market is celebrating its 10th anniversary in the city this Sunday.
The Gluten Free Garage (GFG) is returning to Artscape Wychwood Barns at 601 Christie Street from 10 a.m. through to 5 p.m., with food and drink from over 70 vendors.
For the past 14 years, GFG has taken place in May, during Celiac Awareness Month in Canada.
Tickets for the event are on sale for $15 and will be available upon arrival.
The event is a go-to for Torontonians who live a gluten-free lifestyle or anyone looking to dibble and dabble into a whole new food world.
“Whether you have celiac disease, gluten intolerance or other health issues that benefit from a gluten-free diet, or whether you eat gluten free simply because it makes you feel better. This celiac-friendly, family-friendly event is carefully vetted and curated so that all the food is 100% gluten free and 100% delicious,” the GFG site reads.
GFG’s founder, RonniLyn Pustil, began the pop-up market when her daughter Lily was diagnosed with celiac disease at three years old, and as a result her family adjusted their eating habits, according to the event’s site.
Pustil createdGluten Free Garage to bring the gluten-free community together to convene over healthy foods that are also a pleasure to eat.
A few of this year’s vendors include Italpasta, Crank Coffee Co., Neal Brothers, Queen St. Bakery, The Bean Sprout, Fern, and Made Good.
