U.S. president-elect Donald Trump’s son has shared a falsified photo of his father buying Canada on Amazon, amid heightened tensions between both countries following tariff threats.
In a Monday night post on X, Eric Trump shared a split-screen image of an Amazon cart containing Canada, Greenland and the Panama Canal, as well as a second photo of the president-elect smirking while looking at the doctored photo.

Less than one week prior, he showed support for his father’s mockery against Canada on X, after the president-elect repeatedly referred to the country on social media as the “51st state” of America and called Prime Minister Justin Trudeau the “governor” of Canada.

Trump’s jokes come weeks after he threatened 25 per cent tariffs against Canada, which has prompted discussions between federal and provincial leaders on the best way to deal with the incoming U.S. government.
In a shocking move last week, Chrystia Freeland announced her resignation as finance minister in a letter she shared publicly, saying that Canada needs to take the tariff threat “extremely seriously.”
