A 65-year-old man walking his dog was shot at 13 times after gesturing to a speeding car to slow down, York Regional Police say.

Police released a video and are now looking for suspects and witnesses after the incident happened on Feb. 12 in Schomberg, a town north of Toronto.

At around 8:40 a.m. police responded to reports of a weapons call on Centre Street between Rebellion Way and Church Street.

The victim was walking his dog on a residential road when a speeding car passed by.

The man gestured at the vehicle that passed him, then the car turned around and drove back towards the victim, police said.

Multiple gunshots were then fired at the vehicle and the man was hit 13 times, according to police.

Investigators said at least two suspects were inside the white SUV in question, which sped away westbound on Centre Street.

Police are urging anyone with information or anyone who may have dashcam footage or surveillance video in the area to come forward.
