Justin Bieber will be part of the upcoming NHL All-Star weekend in February, as confirmed in a video posted by the Toronto Maple Leafs.
On Thursday, the team and the NHL posted a video with the caption, “We’re going BIG this year for 2024 Rogers #NHLAllStar.”
The video shows Bieber receiving a video call from Leafs centre Auston Matthews. The hockey star is heard saying, “Looking forward to seeing you at the All-Star Weekend,” confirming the Canadian singer’s attendance at the All-Star weekend from Feb. 1-3.
Matthews goes on to say, “I hope you enjoy your very big present from the team. See you soon, bud. Love you.”
Bieber is then seen walking to his garage and opening it to find a surprise.
“Shut up. Oh my God. It’s huge!” he says. “Carlton, is that you?” he continues, as he sees a giant stuffed toy of the Leafs’ mascot Carlton the Bear.
The toy was wearing a Leafs jersey with a yellow maple leaf based on Bieber’s clothing brand, drew house.
“My guy! This is crazy,” Bieber says in awe. “Holy cow. I gotta put that in my Canada home,” he adds.
The All-Star weekend will be hosted by the Leafs at Scotiabank Arena, marking the ninth time Toronto is hosting the annual event. And this year, the event will be expanded over three days with an All-Star Thursday on Feb. 1.
Throughout the weekend, the best players in the NHL will be showing off their talent for hockey fans. On Friday, Feb. 2, players will participate in the NHL All-Star Skills, while the Rogers NHL All-Star Game will be on Saturday, Feb. 3.
Today is the last day for fans to vote to select 12 players to complete the All-Star rosters. As of Tuesday, Vancouver Canucks goalie Thatcher Demko and Toronto Maple Leafs forward William Nylander were the top vote-getters.
The captains of the four All-Star teams, who will be paired with celebrity captains, will select their teams in a televised draft on NHL All-Star Thursday.
