Movie-goers can now enjoy discounted movie premieres at select cineplex theatres! However, they won’t know what the film is until it begins.
Cineplex launched its Monday Surprise Premiere on Nov. 10, a brand new event that features special mystery movie screenings for only $8.99.
“The catch? The title of the film is only revealed once the lights go down. The only clue? It’s a brand new, un-released film,” Cineplex said in a news release. “No title. No trailer. No spoilers. Just you, a seat, and the chance to be first to see what everyone’s gonna be talking about next.”
The Monday Surprise Premiere is part of several special initiatives that Cineplex has undertaken in recent months to enhance the movie experience.
On Nov. 15 fans will also be treated with a morning of free movies and $3 concessions for the company’s Community Day.

As part of the event Cineplex will donate $1 from every concession to BGC Canada to provide supportive and safe spaces for children and youth to stay outside of school hours.
Throughout October Cineplex also offered $4 family friendly movies which included films such as Trolls, Minecraft, and Corpsebride.

According to Cineplex, all participating films in the Monday Movie Premieres will be screened in 2D, and ratings for the films may not be available at the time of ticket purchase.
As movie-goers await the announcement of another Monday Surprise Premiere, the first screening has already garnered positive buzz online after being surprised with Eternity, a rom-com starring Elizabeth Olsen and Miles Teller.
“The Movie was Eternity and it was awesome,” a Reddit user said.
“What I loved most about it is Eternity is a movie I 100 per cent would have never chosen to go see on my own, but I’m so glad I did now. I feel like this is a great opportunity to see awesome movies that you never would have expected yourself to be interested in,” another user said.
“This was a movie I didn’t know existed, and never would have seen if not for the mystery premiere… and I absolutely loved it, so glad I saw it,” another user said.
