The Ontario Science Centre says it is officially moving to two temporary locations at Toronto’s Harbourfront Centre and Sherway Gardens.
This comes after its Don Mills location became permanently closed earlier in June following reports of structural issues, such as critical roof issues, outdated building systems and an inaccessible pedestrian bridge.
The new Sherway location is expected to open in November and the Harbourfront location in December with new features, according to the Science Centre.
This includes a LEGO skyscraper exhibit called Towers of Tomorrow and Circus! at Sherway Gardens. The exhibit will showcase 20 skyscrapers from around the world and hands-on construction areas, among others. Meanwhile, Circus! is a classic centre favourite that educates visitors of all ages about carnival secrets.
Meanwhile, at the Harbourfront location, visitors can expect the family-friendly exhibit KidSpark to reopen.

The KidSpark experience is made for children 10 years old and under and allows them to live out day-to-day tasks and different careers. For instance, they can shop for groceries at the supermarket, count blocks to build a house or even review x-rays in a pretend doctor’s office.
Last April, Premier Doug Ford announced the centre will be moving to Ontario Place by 2028 to revitalize the space and turn it into a “world-class, year-round destination.”
The state-of-the-art facility is expected to include more exhibition space, a Therme Canada spa, an underground public parking facility and new transportation options that would connect Ontario Place and the Exhibition grounds to the Ontario Line subway, which is in construction.
