What’s better than watching a movie and enjoying the outdoors? How about enjoying a movie outdoors!

The Toronto Outdoor Picture Show (TOPS) is back to celebrate its 15th anniversary with movie screenings taking place at parks across the city all summer long.

From June 12 to August 24, attendees can enjoy moving screenings underneath the stars, coupled with scenic backdrops of some of Toronto’s favourite greenspaces, all for free.

TOPS will screen 20 shows throughout the summer across three parks: Fort York, Christie Pits, and Corktown Common.

Screenings will take place at Fort York during opening weekend from June 12-17. Afterwards, attendees can catch screenings on Thursdays at Corktown Common from July 3-Aug. 7, and Sundays at Christie Pits Park from July 6-Aug. 24.

To top it off, this year’s theme is ‘When We Were Young,’ which throws back to the festival’s very first theme, ‘Coming of Age.’

The theme is meant “to reflect on where we’ve been, where we’re going, and why we fell in love with the movies in the first place,” according to the TOPS’ website.

Although the screenings are free, guests are encouraged to make a charitable donation. Those who make a charitable donation of $15 on the festival’s website will be invited to vote on the closing night film scheduled for August 24 at Christie Pits Park.
