Police are appealing to the public for help in an ongoing sexual assault investigation after a man offered a stranger a ride home in Toronto and sexually assaulted them.

The suspect stopped his car in the area of Danforth and Greenwood avenues and offered the victim a ride home on Feb. 25, around 3 a.m.

After the victim got into the car, the suspect drove down a dead-end street in the area of Felstead and Lamb avenues and sexually assaulted the victim, according to police.

The sexual assault was interrupted when a black sedan drove towards the dead and street which startled the suspect and allowed the victim to exit the vehicle, police said.

The suspect fled the area in his car after mounting the sidewalk.

The man is described as East Indian, in his 20’s, with a thin build. He was wearing dark clothing at the time of the incident and driving a four-door, light-coloured sedan.

Police are looking to speak to the driver of the black sedan, as well as any other possible witnesses or victims.

Anyone with security or dash camera footage of the area or incident is being asked to contact investigators at 416-808-7474, or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 416-222-TIPS (8477), or at www.222tips.com.
