Toronto Tempo drops its jerseys ahead of 2026 season, and the internet is weighing in 

Fans praise the colourways and design, but some say sponsor logos steal the spotlight.

The Toronto Tempo has officially unveiled its first uniforms ahead of the franchise’s inaugural WNBA season, and fans have mixed reactions. 

On Tuesday, the franchise released the jersey designs, featuring the team’s colours – Borealis Blue and Tempo Bordeaux – along with the Tempo’s signature six speed lines.

The reveal included two jerseys: the WNBA Nike Heroine Edition in White, as well as the WNBA Nike Explorer Edition in Tempo Bordeaux. The team also noted that the Explorer version will be available for fans to purchase as soon as January 2026. 

Posting the big reveal on Instagram, fans quickly flocked to the comments to share their love for the colourways.

“The jerseys are super fire,” one person commented. 

“Okay Tempo.. take my money,” another commenter wrote. 

“Can’t wait to rock these!,” professional women’s ice hockey team Toronto Sceptres added.” 

But not all fans are feeling the new threads. The jerseys will also feature patches from the team sponsors, Sephora and CIBC. Sephora’s logo appears on the shoulder, while CIBC’s patch is located on the abdomen, and some fans are criticizing that the scale of the logos are taking away from the team’s branding.

“Looks good but I’m not feeling the size and placement of the CIBC logo,” one fan wrote on Instagram. 

“That CIBC logo is HUGE. I get the sponsors and ads but…. It’s giving same size as the team itself,” another said.

“No way sponsor logo should be competing with the city name,” another added. 

The Toronto Tempo stood by its designs, emphasizing that every detail on the uniform is “intentional.” 

“From the colour story to the speed lines, we’ve created a design that brings our brand to life and represents our city, our fans, and our team. We cannot wait for our players – and our fans – to wear them with pride,” the franchise’s Chief Marketing Officer Whitney Bell said in a press release. 

Fans can sign up at torontotempo.com to be the first to know when the Explorer jersey becomes available for purchase in January.

Tip-off for the first-ever season will be in May 2026.
