The Don Valley Parkway will be fully closed from Highway 401 to the Jarvis Street ramp on the Gardiner Expressway from 11 p.m. on Friday, May 8, until 5 a.m. on Monday, May 11.

The city noted that closure dates were carefully scheduled so that both expressways are not closed simultaneously.

The closures are part of ongoing efforts to maintain infrastructure, reduce future disruptions, and prepare the city for high-profile events.

Crews will work around the clock on repairs, including fixing cracks and potholes, repainting lane markings, maintaining and replacing guardrails, and clearing batch basins to prevent flooding.

To minimize congestion, the city will implement a comprehensive traffic management plan, which includes deploying traffic agents, monitoring traffic in real time, adjusting signal timings on alternative routes, and providing advance messaging through electronic variable message boards.
