Looking for a new home? Oakville offers safety, family-friendly neighbourhoods, and upcoming developments.
When it comes to home ownership, considering what kind of lifestyle you want is imperative to finding the right opportunity.
While the downtown Toronto convenience can be highly attractive for many, with plenty of access to transit, shops, and events, others might be looking for something quieter that will allow them to settle down.
For these buyers, Shafaq Butt, a real-estate agent at King Realty Co., says Oakville could be a great option, as the area offers a family-friendly lifestyle, a sense of safety, and top schooling options.
“Oakville is one of the top neighbourhoods when it comes to schooling and safety, so that’s why Oakville is a city where people really love,” she told Now Toronto.
“There are also redevelopment factors. There’s a lot of homes that are being newly built and redeveloped in pockets of Oakville, so all that combined really makes Oakville a very attractive neighbourhood.”
Able to offer that quieter and family-focused lifestyle, the city’s real-estate market can fall on the pricier side. However, with the market around the GTA slowing down over the last year, Butt buyers are currently able to find opportunities in the $400,000–$500,000 mark.
For those looking to take advantage of the current market, the realtor says her biggest advice would be to jump in as soon as possible and avoid waiting on the sidelines for conditions to change.
“If you are financially capable, there is no point in waiting for the market to dip,” she said.
“Markets can’t really be timed, so if they are financially ready for the investment, I would say to get in touch with a professional and determine your buying power, and then look at which cards you can pull based on that.”
Now Toronto rounded up five properties in Oakville under $500,000 to get buyers started on their search.
