Restaurant-reservation service OpenTable has unveiled its annual list of 100 Most Popular Outdoor Dining Restaurants in Canada just in time for the start of patio season.
This year’s list was curated by analyzing over one million reviews left by OpenTable diners between March 2022 to February 2023. The service looked at outdoor dining seated reservations in Canada for 2023, as well as outdoor dining seated reservations for 2022.
The 100 Most Popular Outdoor Dining Restaurants in Canada features establishments from five provinces. Ontario has 59 restaurants featured, followed by 21 in British Columbia, nine in Quebec, seven in Alberta, and four in Atlantic Canada.
A few of last year’s favourites have made their way back to the list as some of the most picturesque alfresco dining destinations coast-to-coast. This includes Allen’s in Toronto known for its chic wood adorned terrace with complimentary greenery, Vancouver’s Provence Marinaside which overlooks scenic False Creek and Bonterra Trattoria in Calgary that transports guests to a picturesque Italian terrazzo.
In addition to returning fan favourites, there are also a few newcomers who joined the list such as Oretta Midtown in Toronto, recognized for its pretty-in-pink patio, Montréal’s Maison Boulud with an enchanting outdoor garden and LIFT Bar Grill View in Vancouver with harbour and coastal mountain views.

“April dining was up 4% in Canada YoY (year over year), likely a result of warmer temperatures and Canadians enjoying an early start to outdoor dining,” Country Director of OpenTable Canada Matt Davis said in a media release.
“Find a new favourite spot for patio season by exploring our list of the 100 Most Popular Outdoor Dining Restaurants, or by using our outdoor seating filter,” he added.
