Supporting communities in Jamaica
The event is presented by Creative Force Toronto, and in addition to bringing a good time to Toronto, the show is raising awareness for the Creative Force Rural Relief Fund, an organization that works to support underserved rural communities in Jamaica. According to the Statistical Institute of Jamaica, as of 2022, 39 per cent of the country’s population, which sat at 2,774,538 that year, lived in rural areas.
Toronto remains a major stop for dancehall artists
Toronto has long been one of North America’s strongest markets for Jamaican music, thanks to its large Caribbean community and deep-rooted dancehall and reggae culture.
The city regularly attracts internationally recognized Jamaican artists while also serving as home to many Canadian performers influenced by dancehall, reggae and Afro-Caribbean music.
