We’re less than two weeks away from Halloween and if you haven’t done any eerie and entertaining activities related to the scary holiday, then we’ve got your back. This week, we’ve got another spook-tacular round of events that will surely put you in the Halloween spirit. This week, there’s a creepy doll museum, a Halloween-themed market, and a zombie apocalypse-themed haunted house.
Friday, Oct. 20:
After Dark Tours: Lantern Tours at Fort York
Listen to chilling and creepy tales on a walk down Fort York and its historic surroundings. The After Dark Tours: Lantern Tours will enlighten you about the site’s 200-year-old buildings, the bloody Battle of York and all of its many paranormal mysteries. Tickets cost $17.70 each and the tour begins at 100 Garrison Road.

Dead Parents Society: A Dark Sketch Comedy Revue
The 2023 Next Stage Theatre Festival presents the dark sketch comedy Dead Parents Society. This play is written by a group of comedians who each lost a parent at a young age. Through their collective grief, they were able to find comedy in the aftermath of tragedy. The show is held at Buddies in Bad Times Theatre from 5 to 6 p.m. Tickets are $15 for students and $20 for adults.

Creepy Doll Museum
Here’s a museum guaranteed to send chills down your spine. For the first time ever, the Creepy Doll Museum is opening its doors in Toronto at the Red Sandcastle Theatre on Queen Street East in Leslieville. Visitors can see nearly 200 creepy dolls, each with its own haunting story. The museum is available on Friday and Saturday from 7 to 10 p.m. A reminder to visitors: do not touch the dolls!

Hot Docs Podcast Festival
The eighth annual edition of the Hot Docs Podcast Festival is taking place at Hot Docs Ted Rogers Cinema until Oct. 22. Attendees can expect four days of panels with special guests, masterclasses, and conferences from the very best audio storytellers. Single tickets range from $33 to $39 depending on the podcast. All-access passes are $249 for regular customers and $239 for regular members. Creators forum passes are $149 for regular customers and $139 for regular members.

The Welcome Market – Spooky Market
The Welcome Market has organized a special spooky edition of its market just in time for Halloween. All weekend long, visitors can shop handmade spooky items from over 35 vendors, DIY Halloween costumes from thrifted finds, sip on Halloween themed cocktails and do so much more. The market is located at 938 Queen St. W. from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Bats And Rats And Moths, Oh My!
The High Park Nature Centre is inviting you and your family to a twilight nature hike to discover High Park after dark. On this hike, you’ll see and learn about cool insects, such as moths and spiders, as well as animals, including bats, owls and more. Tickets are $10 each.

Halloween Fun Workshops at Scarborough Museum
The Scarborough Museum is hosting Halloween-themed craft workshops every weekend this month. There, you can create anything from dioramas, collages, and paintings among others. This activity is available for all ages and is located at 1007 Brimley Rd.

She’s a singer, actress, and Broadway extraordinaire, Reneé Rapp is here to perform at HISTORY for her Snow Hard Feelings Tour. Many fans might know her as Leighton Murray from the 2021 hit show, The Sex Lives of College Girls, Regina George from the Broadway musical Mean Girls, or simply for her heart-wrenching music, including her albums Everything to Everyone and her most recent, Snow Angel.

Zombie Apocalypse 2023
Step into the Biolux pharmaceutical facility if you dare. The newly transformed space has become the epicenter of a zombie apocalypse and it’s challenging you to explore it. The 30-minute experience will be the scariest half hour guests will ever endure, as they walk through zombie filled rooms and bear witness to gruesome experiments and maniacal scientists. The entrance for Zombie Apocalypse is at 175 Kendal Ave.
