Head over to Artist Project to dive into a world of unbound emotion by marveling at some of the most thought-provoking and beautiful artwork in the city. From painters and sculptors to photographers and mixed-media visionaries, this is one of the city’s most anticipated art events.
“This show gives artists a platform to share their stories face-to-face with audiences who want more than a passing glance,” Show Director Mia Nelson says. “It’s personal, it’s powerful, and it’s full of discovery.”
Over 250 painters, sculptors, photographers, and other artists presenting installations, mixed-media work, and textiles will take over the Better Living Centre at Exhibition Place from May 8-11, 2025.
Attendees will experience art grouped into three main sections. First-time exhibitors will be presented in Untapped. These are students, self-taught talents and recent graduates making their debut. The Main section showcases professional independent artists whose works span a wide range of disciplines and styles. Finally, throughout the fair, you will find Installations – large scale or interactive works that invite you to engage with art in new ways.
Featured artists include Kamaldeep Kaur, who explores feminist identity through a South Asian lens, and 23-year-old Ontario College of Art and Design (OCAD) alumni Bianca Artemida, whose colourful butterfly photography draws viewers in with playful elegance. From conceptual sculptures to intimate portraits, every piece tells a story waiting to be felt.

Meanwhile, the Installations include large, interactive, experiential art scattered throughout the entire venue, including stacked art-covered cardboard boxes by Alex R. M. Thompson, and pillars wrapped with sketches created by the students at the Crestwood School Art Committee.
The public will be able to view other eye-catching conceptions, including Ehiko Odeh & Tyler Sewell’s “Cultural Sanctuary” depicting hair braiding, and dangling mini sculptures from Mackenzie Browning.
What truly sets Artist Project apart is the opportunity to meet the creators. Artists will be on site throughout the weekend, eager to share the stories behind their work and answer questions, further building community and conversation about Toronto’s diverse art scene. This fair is a fun solo experience, but an even better shared experience with your friends or loved ones. Here is an idea – instead of the traditional gifts, why not give an experience filled with meaning this Mother’s Day?
Since there’s a plethora of art to explore, curated art walks are also available during opening hours.
To kick things off, the Opening Night Preview takes place on May 8, from 6–10 p.m. Expect DJ sets, a fashion show from Fashion Art Toronto, and delicious local eats — all set against the backdrop of one of Canada’s most vibrant art fairs.
Throughout the rest of the weekend, Artist Project will be open on May 9 from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m., May 10 from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. and May 11 from 12 p.m to 6 p.m.
Tickets for general admission start at $28, but senior and student discounts are available, and children under 12 are free.
