The Addisons
Likely drawing inspiration from the wild success of members-only Soho Houses around the world, nightclubs are ditching their gaudy, played-out interiors and remodelling as more comfortable fantasy dwellings. The Addisons Residence, at one time the infamous coke den known as C Lounge, is one of two such spots to open this year. Half nightclub, half house party, it’s styled as a new-money retro California mansion owned by a make-believe family whose smiling portraits grace the walls. Grab a cocktail in the kitchen, shoot some foosball in the rec room and snoop around wherever you please – the Addisons are never home.
Hours Wednesday to Friday 5 pm to close, Saturday 7 pm to close.

Apartment 200
Set up in the former lodgings of what was by far the wildest theme bar in town, sex club Wicked, Apt 200 is styled as a raging house party with a trap soundtrack but feels like an after-hours with expensive furnishings that haven’t yet been trashed. The apartment concept arrived in Toronto from Montreal and, like the Addisons, seems to be going for a Soho House vibe. Arrive early to shoot some pool, drink a pretty cocktail and look down on Queen West. If arriving late, make sure you’re on the list and bring your party face.
