
The weekend is here, the weather is good, and from comedy shows to live performances and a Cinco de Mayo celebration, there is so much to do in Toronto this weekend!
Friday, May 2
Toronto Coin Expo
The Toronto Coin Expo is taking over the Toronto Reference Library with an event featuring over 50 internationally renowned coin and banknote dealers.
If you’re a coin collector, you’ll have the opportunity to buy, sell, and appraise your coins, banknotes, tokens, medals, militaria, gold and silver.
The event runs from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Friday, and from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Saturday.
Admission is free for kids 16 and under, while entrance is $6 for those over 17.

Cirque du Soleil
Be amazed at Cirque du Soleil OVO, showing at The Pavillion, the world’s largest free-standing event complex, for a six-week run.
The show is about a beautiful ladybug who falls in love with an awkward, unusual insect who has just moved into the neighbourhood. Organizers say the show plunges the audience into the hidden universe on the ground, where bugs work, eat, crawl, flutter, feast, fight and court in an explosion of energy and movement.
The event is accessible by car or transit. Parking is available nearby for $30. Tickets to the show are available here.
Toronto Comedy All Stars
Get your giggles on at YukYuks All-Star Comedy Show. The show will be at YukYuk’s Richmond St., featuring comedians seen on platforms like Netflix, Crave, and CBC.
Friday’s lineup features Keith Carey, Ed Larson, Ian Sirota, Anna Valenzuela, Danish Anwar, Amy Bugg and Daniel Woodrow. The show starts at 10:30 p.m.
The venue will be selling coffee, cocktails, beer, and other drinks, as well as snacks. Tickets are $22 and can be purchased here.
Saturday, May 3
Kensington Flea Market
The Kensington Flea Market is making a comeback this weekend. Head to 216 Augusta St. for the launch of the flea market’s seasonal opening, happening from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m.
The market is open every weekend from May to October, both Saturday and Sunday, with vendors offering original, local and artisanal handmade products.
City Pop Night
Head to STACKT Market for a unique dance party with city pop music
Attendees can enjoy Japanese and Korean pop music from the 1980s, as well as classic anime and Studio Ghibli music.

Cinco de Mayo
Celebrate Cinco de Mayo with a special event happening in Liberty Village.
From 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., enjoy a celebration of the Mexican holiday in the Green P parking lot located at Liberty St. and Hanna Ave. The event is free to attend and includes a Mexican market, music, and a merchandise giveaway. Plus, each attendee can enjoy a free taco while supplies last.
Sunday, May 4
Toronto International Storytelling Festival
The Toronto International Storytelling Festival is returning for its 46th year!
The theme this year is “Lost Rivers, Lost Stories” and highlights stories, places, and histories that flow beneath Toronto.
The majority of the festival events are happening at The Well, with a handful happening at the Toronto Reference Library. Events include storytelling concerts, free family storytelling, a storytelling symposium and live music.

Star Wars Day Trivia Night
Celebrate Star Wars Day (May 4) with a special trivia night at Snakes & Lattes’ College St. location.
The trivia is set to start at 5 p.m. and wrap up around 7:30 p.m. with attendees encouraged to dress up in their best Star Wars-themed attire and get ready to put their Star Wars knowledge to the test for the chance to win prizes. Those in costume will get extra points for their team!
Tickets are $11.98 per person for those who want to join the fun solo, while group tickets are available for those who already have their teams together. Teams must have four or less members. Purchase tickets here.
The Great Canadian Comedy Festival
Head to the Rec Room to enjoy a few laughs at the opening show of the Great Canadian Comedy Festival.
The festival opens on Sunday and showcases both international and local talent at various venues, including comedians Matt Sadowski, Lulu Townsell, and Genia Dulot.
The festival runs from May 4-7, with a different show each day, featuring at least ten performers per show. The full lineup is here.
