What to watch on Amazon Prime Video Canada in March 2022

Here’s everything new that’s coming to Amazon Prime Video Canada in March 2022.

Deep Water

The movie Ben Affleck and Ana de Armas made when they were a couple turns out to be a moody erotic thriller about a couple trapped in a cycle of provocations and mind games – directed by Adrian Lyne, who sort of cornered the market on such films back in the day with Fatal Attraction, Indecent Proposal and Unfaithful. Will this new project be as memorable (or as racy) as the glossy studio projects of days gone by? Feels like a lot of people will watch just to find out… and grab gifs. March 18

The Boys: Diabolical

While we wait for the third season of the splatteriffic superhero satire to drop later this year, this animated companion series offers an even more amped-up return to Garth Ennis and Darick Robinson’s comic-book universe. Eight episodes, each written by a different creative team – among them Andy Samberg, Aisha Tyler, Awkwafina, Broad City’s Ilana Glazer (and her brother Eliot), Rick And Morty’s Justin Roiland, Invincible’s Simon Racioppa, Boys producers Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg and Ennis himself – will offer snapshots of the world defined by ultra-powerful Supes, performed by an all-star voice cast that includes Don Cheadle, Jason Isaacs, Michael Cera, Kumail Nanjiani, Ben Schwartz, Simon Pegg, Minari Oscar-winner Young Yuh-jung and most of the people listed above. Lucy And Desi

If you, like me, found Being The Ricardos artificial and didactic in that special way only Aaron Sorkin can achieve, Amazon’s distribution pipeline wants to make it up to you with this documentary directed by another television veteran: Parks And Recreation producer/star Amy Poehler. Fresh from its premiere at Sundance, the feature promises a more authentic examination of Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz’s professional and personal partnership, relying on archival interviews, a lot less dramatic licence and fewer prosthetics. It’s better for everyone, really. March 4

Lizzo’s Watch Out For The Big Grrrls

This eight-episode dance/reality/competition show is built around the life force that is Lizzo, who’s “on the hunt for confident, bad-ass women to join the elite ranks of the Big Grrrls and join her world tour.” Ten women must prove themselves worthy of her, as judged by an elite team of choreographers and special guests. We hope everybody makes the cut – that’d be a nice way for Lizzo to screw with convention and stay true to her own inclusive brand. March 25
