NEW YOUNG PONY CLUB

Rating: NNNN

Britain’s New Young Pony Club are the latest synth wielders to come out all neon and randy, with tough-talking speaker/singer Tahita Bulmer as the prurient focal point. NYPC’s sultry Cocteau Twins grooves writhe and gyrate on metaphorically direct songs Get Lucky, Jerk Me and Ice Cream, while Hiding On The Staircase splinters off with a tribal rhythm.

Although just getting a Canadian release this week, Fantastic Playroom has been a hot record since the summer. In fact, at least two singles (The Bomb and The Get Go) have been rocking dance floors for almost two years, which you could blog bitch about. But if Fantastic is saying anything meaningful, it’s “shut the hell up and have some fun.”
