You would think that after Fyre Festival imploded co-founder Ja Rule would go into hiding, but instead the 2000s R&B star is making the rounds on the nostalgia circuit alongside his frequent duet partner Ashanti.
The duo will be headlining the final day of Toronto’s Festival of Beer this July at Exhibition Place. The three-day event runs from July 26 to 28 and will be headlined on the first night by Public Enemy Radio (that’s Public Enemy minus Flavor Flav) on the first day (July 26), followed by Dwayne Gretzky on July 27, then Ja Rule & Ashanti on July 28.
The Beer Fest show comes two years after the hellish Fyre Festival, which Ja Rule co-founded. The Bahamas festival’s bait-and-switch Instagram-models-to-cheese-sandwiches debacle was chronicled in two competing documentaries. The first premiered on Netflix in January, while the Hulu original Fyre Fraud, originally unavailable in Canada, will finally be broadcast on April 12 on Super Channel Fuse and subsequently on Super Channel On Demand.
I guess all publicity is good publicity for Ja Rule.
