The Who and Rita Ora have been forced to postpone respective gigs inToronto.
The legendary British band was due to play the Air Canada Centre on October 19 but have cancelled their entire tour because frontman Roger Daltrey has viral meningitis. The group issued an apology to ticket holders but assured fans that the 71-year-old’s condition is improving after four weeks of hospital visits.
“I am now on the mend and feeling a lot better, but I am going to need a considerable time to recover,” Daltrey says. “The doctors tell me I will make a complete recovery but that I should not do any touring this year.”
The tour will be rescheduled next spring, and tickets for the original dates will be honoured.
Meanwhile, pop star Rita Ora has already pulled the plug on her hastily announced September 23 gig at the Hoxton. In a Facebook post, promoter Embrace blamed the situation on “a scheduling conflict.” The gig will be rescheduled, and refunds are available at point of purchase.
