Calling all art-lovers! Canada’s largest international contemporary art fair is making its highly-anticipated return to Toronto this October!

Attracting esteemed galleries, artists and art aficionados from across the globe, it’s no wonder Art Toronto is considered the most important annual art event in the country. The notable art fair, presented by RBC, will transform the Metro Toronto Convention Centre from Oct. 24 to 27.

This year’s show marks the 25th edition, and Art Toronto is showcasing more than 100 prominent national and international galleries, installations, project spaces, and much more!

Toronto-based Métis curator Rhéanne Chartrand has been appointed Focus Exhibition Curator for Art Toronto 2024, presenting an exhibition titled the place to which we return. Centering around the theme of “home,” the exhibition will explore differing conceptions of how we define home, and how it is intimately wrapped up in identity, history, politics, and geography.

Canadian-based rising star artist Braxton Garneau will also have must-see works showcased at this year’s fair, presented by New York gallery, Efraín López. The artist creates his work with harvested and hand-processed materials including asphalt, cotton, linen, sugarcane pulp, bones and shells. Connecting materials, customs and clothing, Garneau explores the ability of the natural world, and of the people in it, to adapt and transmute to whatever circumstances they may find themselves in.

Don’t miss out on the Opening Night party on Oct. 24 to kick off the weekend art affair, where guests can not only get an exclusive first look at the international fair while savouring delicious drinks and light bites throughout the evening, but also support Canadian art with proceeds from the event benefiting the McMichael Canadian Art Collection.

The National Gallery of Canada will also be acquiring new artworks that will then be displayed at the museum. Visitors at the fair can get a first-hand look at the new pieces at the National Gallery of Canada’s Booth.

“The diversity of galleries and extremely wide selection of artists exhibited makes Art Toronto one of the best places to buy art in Canada, every year,” Jean-François Bélisle, director and CEO of the National Gallery of Canada, shared with Art Toronto.

Perfect for art enthusiasts and collectors or anyone seeking a luxurious night out in the city, Art Toronto promises a sophisticated experience with top-tier displays from renowned artists.

Single entry tickets, day pass, and weekend passes are available for purchase, ranging between $15 to $129. Tickets to opening night, which include re-admission for the duration of the fair, range between $290 and $380. To purchase tickets to this can’t-miss art fair, click here
