Ontarians are reacting after the Conservatives released a leaked video of Liberal Party leader Bonnie Crombie saying she “doesn’t care” about Brampton.

Tuesday morning, the Conservative party posted the 15-second audio on X, where Crombie can be heard saying “I don’t go to anything in Brampton. It’s not my city. I don’t care.”

The video is from when Crombie was the Mayor of Mississauga but it’s unknown what date the audio is from. She served as mayor from Dec. 2014-Jan. 2024.

Online, a lot of users were making light of the situation and throwing jabs at Brampton, which is the third largest city in Ontario. Meanwhile, other online users were surprised and skeptical of Crombie’s comments.

“Not nice.. Brampton is part of Ontario.  If you become liberal leader,  will that be your attitude also,” one X user questioned.

“A 3 second quote taken out of context?  If that’s the best @fordnatio can do he’s in trouble,” another X user said.

“Next you’re going to tell me that (Brampton Mayor) Patrick Brown doesn’t attend events in Waterloo…She was Mayor of Mississauga. Of course there’s no reason for her to attend events in Brampton,” one X user added.

Tuesday morning, the Liberal party also released an attack ad video against Ford, where’ he’s heard saying that he was “100 per cent” happy that President Donald Trump won the U.S. election. The video was released a day after Trump paused the tariffs for up to 30 days.
