Fans are reacting to reports that Bo Bichette is leaving the Blue Jays for a three-year contract with the New York Mets.
The Athletic’s reporter Will Sammon first broke the story, revealing that Bichette would’ve signed a $126-million contract with the Mets.
The shortstop has been with the Blue Jays since 2016, debuting alongside Vladimir Guerrero Jr. in 2019. Since then, Bichette has scored 111 home runs and 437 runs over 748 games for the Toronto team over the course of seven seasons.
During last year’s World Series, Bichette hit a historic home run for the team in Game 7. The game crowned the Los Angeles Dodgers the World Series champions, after a 5-4 against the Toronto team.

At the time, his favourite restaurant Animl Steakhouse and Cocktail Den released a letter to the player, offering him a lifetime deal if he stayed in the Toronto team.
