
Ontario reported 948 new cases of COVID-19 and seven more deaths on November 2.
Labs in the province completed more than 27,900 tests in the past 24 hours, below daily capacity of around 45,000 tests. The positivity rate is now 3.4 per cent.
The majority of today’s cases are in the Greater Toronto Area.
“Locally, there are 315 new cases in Toronto, 269 in Peel, 81 in York Region and 64 in Ottawa,” Health Minister Christine Elliott said on Twitter. “There are 826 more resolved cases.”
The total number of confirmed active cases in Ontario is 8,096.
There are 328 people in hospital, including 75 in intensive care and 54 on ventilators.
Out of the province’s 626 long-term care homes a total of 78 are experiencing outbreaks. Of those, 42 have no resident cases and 36 have resident cases.
The province reported 977 infections on Sunday, 1,015 on Saturday, 896 on Friday and 934 on Thursday.
To date, there have been 77,655 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Ontario. of those, 66,407 are resolved and 3,152 people have died.
